Job summary

Roofstock in Dallas, TX is seeking a Property Accountant – Institutional to provide full cycle accounting support for the property management team and to communicate financial results to clients and management. This role emphasizes strong accounting, collaboration, and communication skills in a fast-paced setting.

You will handle GAAP reporting, monthly closes, accruals, reconciliations, and distributions, requiring proficiency in Excel and Google Suite and a meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years of Real Estate Accounting experience.
• Public Accounting experience highly preferred.
• Proficiency using Excel and Google Suite products.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Adaptability to varying environments and priorities.
• Ability to multitask and meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily accounting functions for multiple regions.
• Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare monthly accrual journal entries and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly distributions to clients.
• Review and maintain accuracy of general ledgers.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure completeness of financial packages.
• Research new accounting laws and regulations for different states as needed.
• Prepare annual 1099/1096 and quarterly 592/588 reporting.
• Ad hoc assignments as needed.
