Job summary

Thompson Law in Dallas, TX is seeking a Pre-Litigation Attorney to manage a personal injury pre-litigation docket under the mentorship of senior attorneys. You will evaluate cases, build liability and damages theories, and guide medical build-up toward settlement.

This role focuses on post-intake through settlement, with collaboration from paralegals, and a path to growth in Texas personal injury practice. You will be hands-on with case strategy while avoiding courtroom work until litigation is

Qualifications

• Texas License: Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
• Experience: 3-8 years of legal experience, including at least 2 years of personal injury experience (plaintiff or defense).
• Personal Injury Skills: Evaluate liability, coverage, medical records, values, and negotiate with adjusters.
• Organization & Attention to Detail: Manage a robust docket and meet deadlines.
• Communication: Clear and effective in writing and on the phone with clients, adjusters, and attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Own a pre-litigation docket and develop liability, coverage, and damages theories toward settlement.
• Evaluate cases and recommend moves forward or needs for special handling.
• Guide treatment with paralegals and providers to support the medical build-up for the case.
• Build and review demand packages, test liability and coverage, and set settlement ranges.
• Direct negotiations and help protect the client’s net by resolving liens and distributions.
• Lead assigned paralegals and assistants to maintain high standards of excellence.
