Job summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction in Dallas, TX is seeking a Project/Field Engineer to support Project Managers and Superintendents by reviewing, analyzing, and resolving field construction issues. You will develop project reports, schedules, and analyses for assigned scopes and serve as a liaison to subcontractors and client representatives.

The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and precise documentation, including plan reviews, change orders, and progress monitoring of costs and schedules.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field; or relevant construction experience.
• Experience in design, estimating, and/or field supervision preferred.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and recognize building plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with Office tools and project scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation of plans, detail sheets, and specifications for contractors and supervisors.
• Review shop drawings before issuance to subcontractors and filings.
• Verify/maintain exterior/interior grade and working lines for contractors.
• Monitor change orders, purchase requests, and architectural supplements.
• Update schedules and write reports on project progress and costs.
• Collaborate with project team to ensure timely, quality results for the client.
• Assist with bid packages, final estimates, change orders, and punch lists.
• Support project safety programs and quality management programs.
