Job summary

The State of South Carolina is hiring for a Dairy Processing Operator to oversee all fluid processing and ice cream manufacturing, including a regulated milk testing lab. You will ensure accurate inventory, processing, record keeping, storage and shipment of production and surplus raw milk products.

Responsibilities include strict adherence to SCDHEC, FDA and USDA guidelines, extended hours during peak seasons and emergencies.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
• A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
• Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate all fluid processing and ice cream manufacturing, including a regulated milk testing laboratory.
• Inventory, processing, record keeping, storage and shipment of all production including surplus raw milk products.
• Ensure compliance with SCDHEC and federal (FDA & USDA) regulatory guidelines.
• Extend work hours during peak seasons and emergencies to include agriculture division dairy and other operations.
• Essential position; Agriculture Division Director requires staffing during any state or agency emergencies.
