Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a capable department team member to work on the floor with associates, cover absences, and support scheduling and training. You will help maintain GMP compliance, oversee equipment and reports, and promote quality and safety.

The role requires high school education, the ability to lift 50+ pounds, and flexibility to work all shifts, including nights and weekends. Strong teamwork and leadership are essential as you contribute to store operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to learn and perform all positions in the department.
• Must obtain forklift license and operate forklift.
• Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must demonstrate leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Proficient in basic computer tasks (Outlook/Excel/Word).
• Comply with GMPs and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Work on the floor with associates and cover for absences.
• Understand and maintain department reports and procedures.
• Coordinate break and lunch schedules for the team.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, PMs, and work orders.
• Assist managers with scheduling of associates.
• Support production scheduling and planning in the absence of Dept. Manager.
• Train associates using SBSs and JIT methodologies.
• Promote quality and food safety standards.
