Job summary

Lactalis US Yogurt, Inc. in Reed City, Michigan is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support plant departments by timely responding to service and repair requests. The Reed City Plant operates 24/7.

The role requires installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing yogurt processing and packaging machinery, with opportunities for skill advancement and potential overtime across shifts.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance or related experience.
• Experience with PLC.
• Working knowledge and demonstrated skills in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of piping systems.
• Working knowledge and demonstrated skills in arc welding, gas welding and solder practices.
• Mechanical, math, troubleshooting and problem-solving and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Install, maintain, trouble-shoot, and repair industrial yogurt processing and packaging machinery, work tools and equipment.
• Provide technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and equipment modifications.
• Perform both uptime and down time preventative maintenance in adherence to the master PM schedule.
• Perform corrective maintenance work order.
• Repair and maintain building utilities.
• Ability to learn and perform minor machining and welding tasks.
• Design and layout circuits, install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment/components.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
• Assist with training new employees as needed.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required.
• Perform additional related tasks as assigned3
