Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct and supervise team members across departments. You will mentor and coach, implement strategies to improve customer service, drive sales, and uphold Meijer standards during prime hours.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, 2–3 years of retail experience, and at least 1 year in management. Rotational assignments across departments, strong communication, conflict resolution, and multi-tasking are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate direction clearly to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and career development for team members.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor team members to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain standards.
• Ensure team is trained in all aspects of their jobs and completed required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure service excellence.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain reliable attendance.
