Job summary

Kroger in Indianapolis is seeking an experienced department leader to create an outstanding customer experience by embracing the Customer 1st strategy and guiding associates to deliver excellent service. You will ensure a safe, clean environment and drive sales while controlling expenses in the Dairy department.

Responsibilities include setting performance goals, scheduling, training staff, and executing promotions.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Management experience preferred.
• Dairy experience.
• Retail experience.
• Second language (verbal, reading and/or writing).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude.
• Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates.
• Establish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet or exceed goals and targets through teamwork.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
• Train and develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, food safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store, and by using knowledge of products to make suggestions.
