Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in Goleta, CA is seeking a Dairy Manager to lead the Dairy Department on the sales floor and in the backroom cooler. You will direct clerks, maintain sanitation standards, stock according to dairy guidelines, and ensure exceptional customer service.

You will oversee inventory, pricing changes, staff development, scheduling, and performance reviews, while partnering with store leadership to drive sales and product freshness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' retail grocery experience
• Good communication skills; able to take direction in a team environment
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers and financial goals
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor with positive attitude toward team members and customers
• Able to answer phones and take special orders
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; maintain clean and sanitized work area
• Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks and hand trucks; weigh and label products
• Stand for long periods (up to 8 hours per shift) and lift up to 40 lbs; follow safety regulations and obtain Food Handlers permit

Responsibilities

• Direct clerks in the Dairy Department and oversee presentation and sanitation on the sales floor and backroom cooler
• Process and stock products according to Sprouts dairy standards
• Delivers outstanding customer service across the department
• Provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Dairy Department
• Control inventory to maintain stock levels and maximize sales while minimizing loss
• Rotate products to ensure freshness and remove out-of-code items
• Implement price changes within the department
• Coach and evaluate team members; conduct bi-annual performance reviews
• Attend in-store meetings and participate in recruitment and promotions decisions with the Store Manager
• Collaborate with HR on performance improvement actions when needed
• Schedule staffing to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Communicate standards, policy changes, and product knowledge to staff
• Lead a team to deliver high-quality products and exceptional customer experiences
