Job summary

Kroger is seeking a store operations associate to promote outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean environment. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while upholding quality and safety standards in the Dairy department.

Responsibilities include answering customer questions, stocking and labeling merchandise, checking product quality, and adhering to all food safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions on products in the department and store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of department products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of dairy specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered.
• Recommend dairy items to ensure satisfaction.
• Check product quality and freshness; review sell-by dates and take action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers; maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks, theft, or fraud.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage conflicts in a calm, cooperative manner.
• Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when resolving issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults as needed.
• Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
