Job summary

Tate & Lyle is seeking a Technical Service Dairy Application Scientist to support the NOAM Dairy Technical Service team. The role involves executing lab and pilot plant projects for customers and driving knowledge growth within the Dairy group.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s or BS with 2+ years in Food Science, Chemistry, or Engineering, with strong writing, communication, and problem-solving skills, and dairy science knowledge. Strong independence and matrixed collaboration are valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s or BS with at least 2 years in relevant field
• Expertise in writing technical summaries, reports, and presentations
• Knowledge of dairy science, dairy product formulation, and dairy processing
• Ability to deliver results where ambiguity exists
• Good problem-solving skills and quick decision-making
• Ability to navigate a matrixed environment and collaborate with internal peers, sales, and customers
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Highly self-motivated and able to work independently

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Remote Technical Account Managers to understand objectives and design/execute projects
• Execute projects to expand the Dairy team's technical knowledge related to product sub-categories or Tate & Lyle ingredients
• Conceptualize, design, and execute projects scientifically in collaboration with team members
• Operate pilot plant equipment using industry-standard procedures
• Learn to operate and run relevant pilot plant equipment
• Translate project data into meaningful results and conclusions
• Provide recommendations and communicate results clearly
• Deliver customer/internal technical presentations as needed
• Support NOAM Dairy Technical Service team with additional duties
