Des Plaines Park District is seeking a D62 & D207 Building Supervisor to ensure safety, security, and smooth operation of programs at District 62 schools and Maine West High School. You will manage facility access, monitor spaces, and assist with setup and teardown during assigned shifts.

The role requires 18+ years of age, CPR and First Aid certification within 3 months, and the ability to supervise patrons and staff in a dynamic recreation environment.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid Certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor D62 and D207 facilities during assigned shifts to ensure safety and security for coaches, participants, and families.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of facility layout and program areas.
• Complete daily and nightly facility inspection checklists.
• Monitor cleanliness of gym, restrooms, pool areas, and building exterior; report concerns as needed.
• Respond to emergencies by administering First Aid/CPR and assist with emergency procedures.
• Ensure closing procedures are completed and report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisor.

"Enriching Lives Everyday" is our vision and our constant goal.JOB IDENTIFICATIONJob Title: D62 & D207 Building SupervisorGrade: VFLSA: Non –Exempt, Hours not to exceed 950/yearDepartment: RecreationSUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPSReports to: Athletics SupervisorSupervises: Volunteer coaches & ParticipantsBASIC FUNCTIONThe D62 & D207 Building Supervisor, under the direction of the Athletics Supervisor, is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and supervision of Des Plaines Park District programs held at District 62 schools and Maine West High School during assigned work hours. This position provides facility access for participants, coaches, and parents/guardians, monitors program and restroom areas, ensures patrons remain in designated spaces, serves as the primary on-site contact with school district staff, and helps maintain a safe and positive environment throughout program operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIESSupervise and monitor D62 and D207 facilities during assigned shifts to ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for coaches, participants, parents, and guardians.Maintain a thorough understanding of the facility layout, including program areas, entrances, exits, and access points.Complete and submit all required daily and nightly facility inspection checklists.Monitor the cleanliness of facility spaces, including the gymnasium, restrooms, band room, gymnastics gym, pool area, and building exterior, and address or report concerns as needed.Respond appropriately to emergencies by administering First Aid and/or CPR when necessary, completing required documentation, and assisting with emergency procedures, including evacuations and severe weather response.Remain informed of all programs and activities scheduled during each shift and assist with facility setup and teardown as needed.Conduct routine walkthroughs of the facility throughout each shift to inspect program areas, restrooms, and common spaces for safety, security, and cleanliness.Address and document inappropriate use of the facility or equipment and communicate incidents to the appropriate supervisor.Secure the facility at the conclusion of each shift by ensuring doors are fully closed, building systems are functioning properly, and all closing procedures are completed.Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, operational issues, and unusual incidents to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner.OTHER DUTIESAdhere to all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and Crisis Manual.Assist program instructors, facility users, with any needs.Additional duties as assigned.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High School Education or equivalent (GED)Experience: Must be 18 yrs or older.Certifications: CPR and First Aid Certified within 3 months, Classes available through Park District upon hirePERKS & BENEFITS: PART TIME STAFFAll recreational facilities at no charge during active employment, discounts for dependentsA free individual outdoor pool pass to three aquatic facilities, or family pass at 50% discountA free annual or monthly fitness center and/or indoor aquatic center passRent meeting/party spaces at 50% discount50% discount for general programs/pre-registration (some exclusions apply)Contractual classes/programs at a discounted rateAll golf facilities at no charge including Golf Center Golf Course, Lake Park, and Mountain View Adventure CenterDes Plaines Park District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
