Job summary

St Charles Park District is seeking an entry-level Athletic Field Supervisor for seasonal work at the Sportsplex in St. Charles, IL.

You will help deliver recreation services, assist with game preparation and safety procedures, and support park staff while maintaining a welcoming attitude. The role requires being at least 16, a high school diploma or in progress, and certifications in First Aid/CPR/AED and DCFS Mandated Reporter within 30 days.

Qualifications

• One-year experience in face-to-face program delivery desirable.

Job Summary - About the Role

Deliver high quality recreation services for residents, visitors and the St. Charles community by adhering to the District’s safety and administrative policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

This position is well suited for someone with a friendly and positive personality who is productive and shows initiative, is an effective written and oral communicator, is reliable and safety-minded.

Understanding of the rules and procedures for adult sports. Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification or obtain certification within 30 days of hire. Essential Functions of the Position

• Follow all departmental safety rules that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of Park District’s safety and risk management program.
• Work cooperatively and collaboratively with residents, colleagues, the public, PDRMA and other agencies or organizations as delegated.
• Recommends improvements and efficiencies to better accomplish individual and district goals in the best interests of the St. Charles Park District community.
• Comply with Park District policies and administrative procedures.

Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of the Superintendent of Recreation, Assistant Superintendent of Recreation – Athletics and Sportsplex and the Athletic Supervisor, the Athletic Field Supervisor shall complete their assigned duties to the best of their abilities, offering suggestions of better ways to accomplish jobs and be ever mindful of the best interests of the St. Charles Park District and of fellow employees. This position requires extensive knowledge and ability to:

• Work cooperatively and harmoniously with the general public, other facility users and fellow employees.
• Effectively communicate orally.
• Assist in supervising all scheduled activities.
• Prepare fields for games.
• Work with large groups.
• Monitor and request supplies, as needed.
• Perform First Aid as necessary. Complete Accident reports according to Park District Guidelines.
• Resolve problems with participants.
• Follow all safety procedures that pertain to duties involved.
• Maintain certification in First Aid.
• Assist with emergency procedures and field evacuation.
