Job summary

Broadcom Inc. is seeking a Die-to-Die (D2D) Applications Engineer to be the primary technical resource for customers integrating our D2D PHY IP in silicon. You will bridge hardware, firmware, and software across RTL, bring-up, and production stages.

You will develop expert knowledge of the D2D PHY architecture, diagnose cross-domain issues, and create helpful documentation for internal teams and customers. Excellent communication and strong debugging skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years.
• Hands-on experience running and debugging Verilog simulations.
• Strong debugging skills across RTL/digital logic, firmware, embedded software, or system-level hardware.
• Ability to trace an issue from a software/firmware symptom to hardware/RTL root cause.
• Solid understanding of digital design fundamentals and chip-level interfaces/protocols.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex issues to internal teams and customers.
• Self-directed and comfortable owning ambiguous debug problems.
• Scripting skills (Python, Ruby, Tcl) for debug automation and log analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support to customers integrating the D2D PHY IP.
• Debug and resolve Verilog/RTL simulation issues in customer integration.
• Support internal DFT and ATE production test development with PHY guidance.
• Assist external customers with silicon bring-up and production test support.
• Triage and resolve firmware-related issues from customer queries.
• Diagnose issues spanning RTL, firmware, and system software boundaries.
• Develop and maintain internal documentation and debug guides.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to close issues.
• Participate in customer-facing technical discussions and reviews.
