Prime Healthcare is seeking a Cytotechnologist for the Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL. The role focuses on cytology specimen evaluation, preparation, and reporting, with collaboration with pathologists and lab leadership.

The candidate will screen gynecologic and non-gynecologic samples, prepare and stain slides, and assist with FNA procedures while maintaining regulatory compliance and timely results.

Qualifications

• ASCP Cytotechnologist certification or equivalent as stated in CLIA requirements.
• Completion of a cytotechnology program accredited by CAAHEP (CAAHEP).
• Minimum of one year hospital-based laboratory experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Screen and evaluate gynecologic (Pap tests) and non-gynecologic cytology specimens for abnormalities.
• Prepare and stain cytologic specimens using appropriate laboratory techniques.
• Assist pathologists during fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures, including specimen adequacy assessment.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of findings in the laboratory information system (LIS).
• Maintain productivity and turnaround time standards for cytology case review.
