Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Cytotechnologist for a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. This role supports patient-centered care and adheres to ethical and regulatory standards.

The incumbent will examine gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides for infections and malignancies, document findings, and participate in quality assurance and professional development activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cytology or related field.
• CT (ASCP) certification within 1 year of hire.
• Ability to perform high-complexity testing per CLIA and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Microscopic examination of gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides for infectious, pre-malignant, and malignant processes.
• Maintain patient safety and accurate documentation.
• Participate in professional growth, continuing education and proficiency testing.
• Mentor and train new staff, and support co-workers as needed.
• Adhere to NM ethics, compliance, and organizational policies.
