Mercy Health seeks a Cytotechnologist to join the St. Vincent Medical Center laboratory team.

The role involves staining, mounting, and examining cells to detect precancerous, malignant, and infectious conditions, and supporting pathologists with accurate reports. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science, complete a Cytotechnology program, and have CT certification; three years of clinical lab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science required or equivalent.
• Completion of Cytotechnology Program required.

Responsibilities

• Assist pathologists by providing clinical data or microscopic findings.
• Mount, stain, and examine smears to evaluate specimen quality and report abnormalities.
• Maintain laboratory operations following safety and preparation standards.
• Classify abnormal cell structures and report to Pathologists for further exam.
• Document data from analyses into hospital system for patient records.
