Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Cytotechnologist for St. Vincent Medical Center Medical Office Building 2.

You will stain, mount, and study cells under a microscope to detect precancerous, malignant, or infectious conditions, supporting pathologists with accurate pathology reports. The role requires a biology/chemistry or medical lab science degree, completion of Cytotechnology program, and CT certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science: Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Laboratory Sciences is required.
• Completion of Cytotechnology Program is required.
• Cytotechnologist CT certification is preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical data or microscopic findings to assist pathologists.
• Mounts, stains, and examines smears under a microscope.
• Maintains laboratory safety and specimen quality standards.
• Documents data in the hospital system for patient records.
• Monitors inventory and orders replacements as needed.
