Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Cytotechnologist for Navicent Health Medical Center in Macon, GA. The role performs microscopic evaluations of gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology samples and uses independent judgment to support physician diagnoses.

You will ensure accurate specimen handling, participate in quality control, and work weekdays 8:00A–4:30P with no weekends or holidays. A CT or SCT from ASCP is required or to be obtained within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Cytotechnology.
• CT or SCT certification by ASCP; CT certification within 1 year if not yet obtained.
• Recent cytology experience in acute care hospital or high-volume clinical setting preferred.
• Training from a CAAHEP accredited cytotechnology program is expected.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates working and theoretical knowledge of diagnostic cytology principles.
• Evaluates samples for malignant, pre-malignant, infectious, and inflammatory changes.
• Ensures accurate labeling, data entry, and timely reporting per quality program.
