Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Cytogenetics Technologist III to join our team in Torrance, CA. The role focuses on FISH testing and analysis, including wet lab work, probe hybridization, fluorescence microscopy, result interpretation, and reporting for hematologic and FFPE specimens.

Schedule is Monday-Friday, 2pm-10:30pm. Responsibilities include tissue culture, karyotyping, reagent prep, FISH processing, troubleshooting instruments, performing QA/QC, and maintaining supplies while ensuring accurate

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
Five years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
Three years experience performing FISH wet lab and FISH analysis.
California Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist License.

Responsibilities

Perform routine procedures including tissue culture, harvest, slide making, banding, automated karyotyping, reagent prep and FISH processing.
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
