Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Team Leader to join our Durham, NC facility. The role requires leading the department, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring high-quality testing performance. You will supervise, train staff, and manage reports while maintaining regulatory standards.

The position emphasizes strong technical skills in cytogenetics, assay oversight, and a willingness to work Wednesday–Saturday 1pm–11:30pm, with opportunities for growth in a global diagnostic network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 5+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience in a Cytogenetics/FISH lab environment.
• Understanding of laboratory operations and policies/procedures.
• Experience working in a high-volume laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervisor with day-to-day operations of the Department/Lab Name department.
• Send daily, weekly and monthly production reports to management.
• Assist with training of new hires and development of current employees.
• Monitor and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
