Job summary

Airgas in Allentown, PA is hiring a Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) to safely operate equipment for handling and producing packaged gas cylinders, including high pressure and cryogenic gases. You will load/unload cylinders, sort by type, move cylinders with a forklift, and ensure accurate labeling and safety checks.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, and at least 1 year of related experience. SAP or ERP familiarity, and Microsoft Office skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and related rules.
• A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads gas cylinders onto/off of route trucks and moves cylinders with carts.
• Sorts empty cylinders by type.
• Operates forklift to move cylinders on pallets.
• Reads cylinder labels and color-coding; labels cylinders accurately.
• Prepares high pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling.
• Fills cylinders by pressure and weight per regulations and standards.
• Keeps paperwork aligned with DOT, FDA, OSHA and Airgas standards.
