SOFIE in Albany, NY is seeking a Cyclotron-Support Engineer I to ensure safe operation, maintenance, and repair of cyclotrons and related PET manufacturing equipment. You will perform routine and emergency maintenance, document work, and support on-site with third-party contractors as needed.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of cyclotron experience or an associated technical degree, strong electronics knowledge, and the ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years of cyclotron experience or an Associate Degree in a Technical Discipline required.
• Working knowledge of digital and analog circuitry required.
• Able to troubleshoot electronics down to the component level preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings required.
• Knowledge of radiation survey meters required.
• Experience in diagnosis and repair of equipment failures required.
• Experience with high voltage training preferred.
• Knowledge of basic cGMP practices and procedures preferred.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions required.
• Experience working with radioactive materials required.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in protective clothing, operate in confined spaces and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. required.
• Occupational exposure to ionizing radiation required.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and dependability required.

Aufgaben

• Operate the cyclotron(s) according to proper operating procedures (including night and weekend shifts).
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on cyclotron(s).
• Complete documentation related to operations, maintenance, and audits.
• Plan and execute accelerator maintenance on a schedule.
• Diagnose and repair electronic equipment, HV, and RF systems.
• Provide timely status updates to supervisors.
• Maintain PET manufacturing equipment and support third-party contractors.
• Oversee contractors with Facility Manager on related equipment.
• Support radiation safety and QA program compliance.
• Provide training and after-hours on-call support.
• Submit work tickets, time cards, and expense reports.
• Other duties as required.
