Job summary

SOFIE is seeking a Cyclotron-Engineering Technician (Contractor) to perform routine and emergency maintenance on PET manufacturing equipment, including cyclotrons and radiochemical systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, and document activities while ensuring compliance with QA and radiation safety programs.

The role requires reading electrical/mechanical drawings, handling high-voltage and vacuum systems, and coordinating with the Facility Manager and contractors.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in engineering technology or 2+ years of electro-mechanical technician experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot electronics to component level.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Experience working in hazardous environments and with lockout/tagout.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Comfort operating in radiation-controlled facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, non-routine, scheduled, and emergency maintenance on cyclotron equipment.
• Document maintenance activities per work instructions including preventive maintenance, repair, and audit logs.
• Plan and execute maintenance on a schedule determined by Tech Services management.
• Diagnose and repair electronic equipment, electro-pneumatic systems, high vacuum systems, deionized water systems, high voltage.
• Oversee work of third-party contractors on equipment with Facility Manager.
• Provide after-hours on-call support; night/weekend coverage may apply.
• Submit all work tickets, time cards, and expense reports promptly.
• Ensure QA and radiation safety program compliance.
• Provide technical training and support to other employees.
