Job summary

SOFIE is seeking a Cyclotron Engineer I to oversee safe operation, maintenance, and repair of cyclotrons and related PET manufacturing equipment. You will troubleshoot, service, and document activities across high-vacuum, HV, RF, and radiosynthesis systems.

The role requires independent decision-making, on-call coverage, and collaboration with a Facility Manager and contractors. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years cyclotron experience or equivalent technical background is required.
• Strong knowledge of electronic/electro-pneumatic systems and high-vacuum tech is required.
• Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operate cyclotrons according to procedures during manufacturing, including night/weekend shifts.
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on cyclotron systems.
• Document all operations, maintenance, and audits per instructions.
• Plan accelerator maintenance activities with Tech Services.
• Diagnose and repair electronic equipment, HV and RF systems.
• Provide after-hours on-call support and timely status updates.
