Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York is seeking a versatile Cyclotron Engineer to support cyclotron operations, radiopharmaceutical production, chemistry automation initiatives, and laboratory equipment maintenance.

This role involves troubleshooting complex systems, operating the PETtrace 880 Cyclotron and chemical synthesizers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a highly specialized research and production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience working with and troubleshooting complex technical, laboratory, industrial, manufacturing, or automated systems.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to unfamiliar equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Prior cyclotron or radiopharmaceutical experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Responsabilités

• Operate and support maintenance of the PETtrace 880 Cyclotron.
• Troubleshoot cyclotron systems, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and fluid components.
• Operate chemical synthesizers for radionuclide and radiopharmaceutical production.
• Support development, testing, and optimization of automation processes for new radiopharmaceuticals.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain laboratory equipment, including hot cells, HPLC, TLC, GC, telemanipulators, and related systems/softwares.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs with equipment vendors and service providers.
• Manage installation and commissioning of new laboratory equipment and technical projects.
• Maintain engineering workspaces, technical areas, and equipment inventory.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, chemistry automation projects, and laboratory operations.
