Job summary

The Cigna Group’s Technology Development Program Cyber‑Security Summer Internship invites you to join a 12‑week summer program focused on hands‑on cyber security work. Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline with a focus on security.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts including network security, threat analysis and risk management.
• Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, IDS and endpoint protection solutions.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Python/Java/JavaScript) with willingness to enhance security coding skills.
• Experience with security software (Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit, Splunk or ELK Stack) and antivirus tools.
• Exposure to Windows and Linux operating systems and security configurations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear communication.
• Proactive approach to learning and keeping up with cybersecurity trends.
• Basic understanding of agile methodologies and modern delivery practices.
• GPA 3.3+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work within Cyber Security across technical and investigative teams, contributing to threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and risk mitigation.
• Analyze security events in a SOC, conduct forensic investigations and help engineer secure systems.
• Engage with peers, mentors and cross-functional partners to learn and grow.
