Job summary

Windward Consulting seeks a Cybersecurity SecOps Consultant who blends hands-on security operations with consulting and delivery leadership. You will translate complex cybersecurity needs into executable plans, work with engineers and SecOps teams, and guide cross-functional projects from planning through adoption and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience, including hands-on SecOps, security engineering, architecture, or technical consulting.
• Direct experience with SIEM/SOAR and security-data platforms, especially Splunk and/or Cribl, including data pipelines, onboarding, integrations, migrations, or use-case development.
• Strong understanding of modern cybersecurity operations, monitoring, incident response, security data, integrations, and SIEM concepts.
• Experience leading technical cybersecurity initiatives or workstreams with translated objectives into scope, milestones, risks, and outcomes.
• Strong consulting and stakeholder leadership skills, including discovery, facilitation, documentation, and executive communication.
• Experience with multiple enterprise cybersecurity technologies and integrations (Splunk, Cribl, Defender, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, ServiceNow, SOAR, Jira, Confluence) and governance frameworks such as NIST.

Responsibilities

• Advise cybersecurity leaders on SecOps strategy, priorities, initiatives, and milestones.
• Lead cross-functional cybersecurity initiatives across operations, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Coordinate sessions, resolve dependencies, drive decisions, and maintain delivery discipline using Jira and Confluence.
• Provide leadership across SecOps initiatives including security engineering, SIEM/SOAR, detections, analytics, and automation.
• Evaluate technical approaches, identify gaps, and develop practical recommendations for tool selection and deployment.
• Define and communicate security performance, risks, and outcomes with clear executive reporting.
