Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a cybersecurity-focused intern to work across technical and investigative teams in a hybrid U.S. environment.

You will engage in threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation within a Security Operations Center. Job description

  • Work within Cyber Security across technical and investigative teams
  • Contribute to threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation
  • Analyze suspicious activity in a Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • Conduct forensic investigations
  • Engineer secure systems
  • Participate in peer, mentor, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Support recruiting efforts, innovation, community initiatives, and onboarding experiences
  • Complete structured core and track-specific technical, leadership, and business curriculum
  • Build relationships through networking, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, with a focus on security practices and principles
  • Basic understanding of network security, threat analysis, and risk management
  • Familiarity with firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and endpoint protection solutions
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
  • Experience with Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit, Splunk or the ELK Stack, and antivirus/anti-malware tools such as McAfee and Symantec
  • Exposure to Windows and Linux operating systems and security configurations and vulnerabilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive approach to learning current cybersecurity trends and developments
  • Basic understanding of agile methodologies such as Scrum
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and test-driven development
  • Must be eligible for employment in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship, including H-1B, CPT/OPT/STEM
  • Must meet the hybrid onsite schedule of at least three days per week
  • Must be available for a 40-hour work week beginning May 24, 2027
  • Must be available within the United States for the pre-employment drug test timeframe
  • GPA of 3.3 or higher preferred
