Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a cybersecurity intern to join our team in the United States. You will gain hands-on experience in vulnerability scanning, remediation, and security tooling while collaborating with product managers, engineers, and architects on secure designs.

As an enrolled IT/CS student, you will contribute to real projects, document processes, and learn industry practices through Agile ceremonies and senior mentorship.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college degree program.
• Undergraduate (Rising Junior / Senior) or Graduate Student (Final Year).
• Information Technology or Computer Science major.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Math aptitude.
• Analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Knowledge of AWS, Linux, Windows, networks, firewalls, and cybersecurity.
• Programming knowledge in Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or similar.
• Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, including testing, version control, and system design.

Responsibilities

• Assess and resolve security risks in public cloud and data center infrastructure environments
• Perform vulnerability scanning on networks, Linux/Windows, VMware, and AWS environments
• Make vulnerability-resolution recommendations and drive remediation activities
• Track vulnerability remediation progress and monitor latest vulnerabilities and CVEs
• Develop hands-on skills with security scanning and SIEM tools
• Coordinate with security SMEs to enable or disable firewall ports
• Implement Akamai security solutions for public-facing URLs
• Assist with software development and coding projects
• Build and test reusable services, APIs, and platform features
• Debug issues and support system improvements
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and architects on requirements and design
• Perform data analysis and create reports or dashboards
• Write technical documentation and process guides
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
• Expand professional networks through job shadowing, cross-functional collaboration, and interaction with organizational leaders
