Job summary

Jobtailor offers a cybersecurity internship to assist with planning, design, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of information security controls across the organization.

You will work with engineers to validate remediation, conduct security audits, and contribute to automation and process improvements while meeting weekly with leadership and delivering a capstone presentation on project outcomes and learnings.

Qualifications

  • Rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field(s)
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Ability to work 38.75 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, design, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of cybersecurity and Information Security controls
  • Perform administrative functions, research, and analysis to support departmental needs and deadlines
  • Develop security solutions and process enhancements that address risk and improve business efficiency
  • Contribute to security operations automation to improve speed, consistency, and effectiveness
  • Meet weekly with the internship cohort, executive leadership, and division-level leaders
  • Summarize and present a capstone presentation covering project accomplishments, skill development, and key learnings
  • Conduct security audits on applications and systems; document and present findings and recommendations
  • Partner with engineers to validate remediation and measure impact
  • Research and develop information security techniques, including automation of repetitive analysis and response tasks
  • Assist with the Third-Party Service Provider program, including security profile monitoring, risk assessments, documentation, evidence collection, and ticketing automation
  • Support specialized projects and strategic initiatives
  • Shadow multiple office positions and train in varied tasks
  • Participate in internal training opportunities
  • Participate in vulnerability assessments, artificial intelligence initiatives, internal security audits, detection engineering, log onboarding/data quality improvement, and security workflow automation
  • Support development and implementation of security policies and procedures aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
