Job summary

Mission North, a strategic communications agency, seeks a proactive Director to lead day-to-day client programs in Cybersecurity and Cloud/AI Infrastructure as part of our Enterprise Technology Group. You will guide end-to-end PR campaigns, mentor a high-performing team, and translate complex tech into clear business narratives.

You will forge trusted partnerships with clients, drive media engagement, and contribute to new business opportunities while managing 1–2 direct reports.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of communications or agency PR experience, preferably with cybersecurity companies or related industries.
• Experience developing, directing, and executing strategic communications programs that blend PR, content marketing, social media, and data storytelling.
• Experience helping disruptive technology companies develop compelling messaging, storylines, and thought leadership platforms.
• Are passionate about how these technologies are redefining how we live and work.
• Established relationships with key media and influencers who cover cybersecurity, AI, and broader enterprise technology.
• Experience running integrated PR programs to amplify narratives and storylines across multiple channels and platforms.
• Experience working with household names and emerging/disruptor brands in B2B technology, including data and cloud infrastructure, applied AI, cybersecurity, business process optimization, SaaS and other key elements of the modern business technology stack.
• Self-motivated.
• Holds self and teams accountable to deliver premium quality work.
• Experience pitching new business is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of Cybersecurity and Enterprise Tech clients; leading end-to-end execution of PR campaigns and programs, teams and stakeholders.
• Be a trusted strategic partner to your clients and a motivating team leader to your account teams.
• Synthesize complex technical concepts into compelling narratives and storylines that resonate with business, trade media, and new media alike.
• Draft strategic deliverables, including campaign plans, media pitches, speaking and award submissions.
• Engage with traditional and non-traditional media to drive awareness and secure coverage for clients.
• Seek out creative ways to connect the dots between news cycles and client opportunities.
• Serve as a key contributor in new business, including ideating and conceptualizing narratives, strategies and storylines, in partnership with senior leaders, and overseeing junior team members on building out content.
• Cultivate the agency’s sphere of influence with agency peers, VCs, etc.
• Manage 1-2 direct reports.
