Job summary

Viasat in the United States seeks a Lead Cyber Security Engineer to guide the Security Engineering and Operations organization and implement strategy. You will work with the Deputy CISO to drive the organization roadmap and resolve blockers, delivering practical security improvements across teams.

You’ll mentor engineers, design secure architectures, enforce security policies, and collaborate with engineering, product, and executives. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field with security focus.
• 10+ years in security or systems/network engineering roles.
• Ability to analyze risk and apply security controls for real-world risk reduction.
• Experience balancing security, performance, and reliability.
• Familiarity with secure system design, networks, and threat modeling.
• Ability to collaborate across security, infrastructure, networking and product teams.
• Knowledge of modern network protocols, encryption, and security architecture.
• Hands-on management of enterprise security tools such as firewalls, SIEM and EDR.

Responsibilities
