Job summary

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Cybersecurity Engineer in Dallas, TX. This role focuses on implementing and managing security tools, protecting assets, and partnering with senior engineers to maintain confidentiality and security of data, applications, cloud and network infrastructure.

You will work hands-on, monitor alerts, perform vulnerability assessments, and help ensure compliance with standards such as NIST, PCI DSS, and SOC 2.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years in cybersecurity engineering.
• Experience with EDR, vulnerability management, and risk reporting.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain enterprise security tools per configurations and runbooks.
• Monitor alerts, analyze logs, and investigate anomalies to detect threats; collaborate with SOC/IR teams.
• Perform vulnerability assessments across systems, networks and applications; report remediation progress.
• Apply controls to meet regulatory, compliance, and internal policy requirements (NIST, PCI DSS, SOC 2, CIS, FedRAMP).
• Execute security control testing and participate in risk assessments in alignment with engineering practices.
