Job summary

City of Cedar Hill is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to protect critical information systems and support security operations. The role involves monitoring, threat detection, vulnerability management, and coordination with IT staff and external Partners in a hybrid work setup.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least three years of cybersecurity experience, with CJIS clearance eligibility and Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of related cybersecurity experience.
• Local government experience strongly preferred.
• Must be eligible for CJIS clearance.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
• Continuing education in cybersecurity with related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests and incidents and protect data confidentiality and availability.
• Monitor security events from SIEM and MDR platforms.
• Maintain security dashboards, reports, and metrics; coordinate incident response.
• Administer Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID security controls.
• Implement and manage MFA, conditional access, and identity protection policies.
• Manage Microsoft 365 security tools (Defender, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).
• Investigate threats and remediate phishing, malware, and unauthorized access attempts.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Support audits and risk management initiatives with documented actions.
• Deliver cybersecurity awareness training and phishing simulations.
