Job summary

LHH seeks a Cybersecurity Analyst / Jr. Security Engineer in the Greater Sacramento area for a direct-hire, full-time position. You will work hands-on across enterprise IT, incident response, and security hardening in a broad technology environment.

The role emphasizes curiosity, strong analytical skills, and the ability to learn quickly while collaborating with IT teams and vendors to improve security controls.

Qualifications

• Hands-on exposure to cybersecurity, security operations, infrastructure or network security.
• Strong understanding of firewalls, SIEM, incident response and access controls.
• Familiar with Wireshark or packet analysis.
• Analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Willingness to work onsite five days per week and obtain required clearance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate security alerts, incidents, and suspicious activity.
• Support incident response, escalation, remediation, and security hardening.
• Work with firewalls, endpoint protection, EDR/MDR, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
• Analyze network traffic and packet captures using Wireshark.
• Administer and troubleshoot security technologies and recommend improvements.
• Support vulnerability management, patching, disaster recovery, and security compliance.
• Coordinate with internal IT teams, security vendors, and managed service providers.
