LHH seeks a Cybersecurity Analyst / Jr. Security Engineer in the Greater Sacramento area for a direct-hire, full-time position. You will work hands-on across enterprise IT, incident response, and security hardening in a broad technology environment.

The role emphasizes curiosity, strong analytical skills, and the ability to learn quickly while collaborating with IT teams and vendors to improve security controls.

Qualifications

• Hands-on exposure to cybersecurity, security operations, infrastructure or network security.
• Strong understanding of firewalls, SIEM, incident response and access controls.
• Familiar with Wireshark or packet analysis.
• Analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Willingness to work onsite five days per week and obtain required clearance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate security alerts, incidents, and suspicious activity.
• Support incident response, escalation, remediation, and security hardening.
• Work with firewalls, endpoint protection, EDR/MDR, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
• Analyze network traffic and packet captures using Wireshark.
• Administer and troubleshoot security technologies and recommend improvements.
• Support vulnerability management, patching, disaster recovery, and security compliance.
• Coordinate with internal IT teams, security vendors, and managed service providers.

Cybersecurity Analyst / Jr. Security Engineer

Employment Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time

Salary: $99,200 - $120,000 annually

LHH is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst for a direct-hire opportunity with an established organization in the Greater Sacramento area. This is a hands-on role ideal for a security professional who has strong cybersecurity fundamentals, enjoys investigating problems, and wants exposure to a broad enterprise technology environment.

You do not need experience with every tool in the environment. The ideal candidate brings curiosity, strong analytical skills, and the ability to learn quickly.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor and investigate security alerts, incidents, and suspicious activity.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Genuine interest in cybersecurity with demonstrated independent learning and initiative.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week and participate in compensated on-call coverage.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required industry-specific license or clearance.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to Have

• PCI DSS, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, or regulated-industry experience.
• Security certifications such as Security+, GIAC, CISSP, CEH, Cisco, Microsoft, or Palo Alto.
• Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent hands-on experience.
