Job summary

Leidos is seeking motivated cybersecurity students for its Summer 2027 Internship Program as a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern, stationed on-site at Ft. Meade, MD. You will work with seasoned SOC analysts to defend DoD networks and gain hands-on experience in threat detection, incident response, and threat intelligence.

You'll learn triage of alerts from SIEM/IDS/NetFlow, analyze network traffic, review IOCs, and document findings for leadership. This role requires U.S.

Qualifications

• Education: Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
• Analytical mindset and proactive attitude with ability to analyze security alerts.

Responsibilities

• Triage and analyze security alerts from SIEM/IDS/NetFlow to identify malicious activity.
• Assist senior analysts in network traffic analysis and correlate security events.
• Shadow incident response efforts and observe containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Review open-source threat feeds to identify Indicators of Compromise.
• Analyze potential security incidents by investigating suspicious connections and logs.
• Create concise technical documentation and incident reports for leadership.
