Job summary

Leidos is seeking motivated cybersecurity students for the Summer 2027 Internship Program at Ft. Meade, MD. As a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern, you will be embedded with SOC analysts and gain hands-on experience defending the DISN for DISA.

This on-site internship offers exposure to enterprise security tools, threat analysis, and incident response, with opportunities to contribute to risk reduction and incident reporting. Applicants must be a U.S.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
• Able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. citizen).
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and defense-in-depth concepts.
• Familiarity with Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks.
• Strong analytical mindset and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Triage and analyze security alerts from SIEM/IDS/IPS and NetFlow to identify potential threats.
• Assist senior analysts with network traffic analysis and correlation of security events.
• Shadow incident response activities during containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Review Open-Source Threat Intelligence and identify Indicators of Compromise.
• Conduct preliminary analyses of potential incidents and document findings for leadership.
