Job summary

Leidos invites motivated cybersecurity students to join the Summer 2027 Internship Program as Cybersecurity Analyst Intern on the GSM-O II contract at Fort Meade, MD. You will work alongside seasoned SOC analysts, gaining hands-on experience in threat hunting, incident response, and security operations for DoD networks.

The role emphasizes learning through real-world projects, exposure to enterprise security tools, and development of technical reporting and threat intelligence skills.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and defense-in-depth.
• Knowledge of Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks; basic malware concepts.

Responsibilities

• Triage and analyze security alerts from SIEM/IDS/IPS and NetFlow.
• Assist senior analysts in network traffic analysis and IOC development.
• Shadow incident response activities during containment and recovery.
• Review open-source threat feeds to identify Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).
• Perform preliminary analysis of potential incidents from logs and connections.
• Create concise technical documentation and incident reports for leadership.
