Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Software QA / Test Engineer 3 in Hanover, MD to support software development for a mission-focused cyber security training solution. You will provide verification and validation expertise across multiple development teams, establishing testing practices and ensuring capabilities meet requirements before deployment.

The role spans full lifecycle testing, with leadership in test development, execution, analysis, and improvement across the program’s software portfolio.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and eight years of software QA/testing experience required.
• Or Bachelor’s Degree and thirteen years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading testing planning and producing audit-ready validation evidence.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve program-level software and system testing strategies.
• Maintain test plans, procedures, cases, scripts, and automated tests for software and hardware.
• Author and improve the System Verification Plan aligned with customer requirements.
• Define release criteria, regression testing methods, and verification for maintenance/releases.
• Coordinate verification across development teams to ensure consistent testing practices.
• Support design of unit, integration, system, regression, and acceptance tests.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and coordinate remediation and retesting with teams.
• Develop and maintain automated testing solutions to improve coverage and efficiency.
• Maintain audit-ready test evidence for releases and maintenance events.
