Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Systems Engineer Level 1 with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to join our team in Hanover, MD. The role focuses on supporting government training systems, documenting architectures, and ensuring alignment with the technical baseline through collaboration across software, systems, network, and security stakeholders.

The candidate will draft and maintain engineering artifacts, track interfaces and dependencies, and support verification planning.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Poly required.
• Five years of relevant experience for Master’s or seven for Bachelor’s.
• Relevant experience includes requirements analysis/derivation, architecture/design support, interface definition, systems documentation, and verification planning.

Responsibilities

• Assist with requirements analysis and decomposition and draft lower-level requirements.
• Draft and update systems engineering artifacts (requirements, diagrams, interface descriptions) using government templates.
• Identify interfaces and dependencies and update interface artifacts as directed.
• Support traceability by maintaining mapping from requirements to design and verification.
• Document technical decisions, risks, and actions from engineering sessions.
