Job summary

Amentum in Hanover, MD seeks a Systems Engineer Level 3 with an active TS/SCI with Poly to lead senior systems engineering efforts for government training systems. You will oversee requirements, architecture, interface governance, and traceability across the lifecycle.

You will mentor junior engineers, review SE artifacts for correctness, and collaborate with cross-functional teams under deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This role demands strong leadership and deep technical expertise.

Qualifications

• Senior systems engineering leadership for programs of similar scope.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
• Experience with requirements baselines and traceability across lifecycle.
• Ability to conduct trade studies and analyses for proposed changes.
• Strong integration, risk management, and governance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering artifact governance for assigned systems (requirements baseline quality, architecture conventions, interface documentation standards, traceability).
• Define cross-system dependencies and governance; ensure interfaces are fully defined and reflected in architecture artifacts.
• Conduct and document trade studies/analyses with clear assumptions, constraints, risks and options.
• Provide senior technical review of impact analyses; ensure verification impacts are identified.
• Ensure requirements-to-verification traceability to support QA/Test planning; no test ownership.
• Mentor junior systems engineers and coordinate hardware/software lifecycle reviews and procurement input.
