Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Cyber Systems Engineer to support the Sentinel program. Based in Annapolis Junction, MD, the CSSE will translate cybersecurity requirements into system designs, guide security architecture, and participate in verification and risk management activities across lifecycle stages.

The role requires an active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret and Special Access; MBSE experience and DoD cybersecurity expertise are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science; or 6 years’ experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active Secret clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret and Special Access as required.
• Direct experience in system requirements derivation/flow down/traceability, architecture, design, implementation, integration and test, and/or verification & validation.
• Direct experience supporting RMF assessment/authorization artifacts per NIST SP 800-37.
• Experience with MBSE, DoD SDLC, and DoD cyber practices.
• Knowledge of cyber risk mitigation, security testing methods, and cybersecurity governance.

Responsibilities

• Implement weapon system cybersecurity requirements to ensure survivability in designs.
• Guide security architecture and influence tool selection and development.
• Assess security risks and attack surface; verify protections are implemented.
• Develop verification plans to ensure cybersecurity protections are functional and complete.
• Provide input to program milestones, plans, and security-related metrics.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to meet program cyber requirements.
