Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Cyber Systems Engineer (CSSE) for the Sentinel program, based in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role focuses on implementing cyber survivability in weapon system designs and guiding security architecture across multiple sites.

You will work within a Cyber Systems Engineering team to develop secure solutions, assess risks, and ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards while collaborating with government and contractor teams to deliver mission-ready

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years, Master’s with 10 years, or a PhD with 8 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity Engineering, or related fields (or 18 years’ experience in lieu of a degree).
• Current DoD 8570 certification for IASAE Level II (CISSP) and ability to obtain IASAE Level III within 6 months of hire.
• Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement weapon system requirements to ensure cyber survivability in system designs and derive cybersecurity requirements across levels.
• Guide the security layout, architecture, and development of cybersecurity tools and protections.
• Assess proposed implementations, identify security risks, and verify protections are integrated into the design.
• Support verification efforts, governance, and risk management in cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams to meet program cyber requirements and drive secure engineering practices.
