Job summary

G2 Ops, Inc. is seeking a Cyber Software Capability Lead and Principal Software Engineer in Arlington, VA. This hands-on leadership role oversees architecture, development, and evolution of software capabilities for the AEGIS portfolio, including cybersecurity-focused platforms.

You will mentor engineers and drive technical execution for DoD customer missions. You will lead cross-functional teams across front-end, back-end, API, cloud, and data integration, ensuring scalable, secure software

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
10+ years of software development experience, including leading technical teams or as a software architect.
Experience developing modern web-based software applications and distributed systems.
Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, cloud technologies, and secure software development.
Experience integrating multiple data sources into scalable software solutions.
Strong communication skills to lead technical discussions with engineers and customers.
Experience with DoD or Federal Government programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical architecture, design, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of software applications supporting the AEGIS portfolio.
Provide technical leadership across front-end, back-end, API, database, analytics, cloud integration, and plugin development efforts.
Develop software capabilities supporting cyber analytics, vulnerability assessment, reachability analysis, mission impact assessment, data visualization, digital engineering, and decision support.
Design scalable, maintainable, and secure software architectures that integrate engineering, cybersecurity, and operational data.
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI, advanced analytics, cloud services, and modern software frameworks.
Mentor software engineers through architecture reviews, code reviews, technical planning, and engineering best practices.
Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers, systems engineers, cloud architects, and customer stakeholders to define technical solutions and implementation strategies.
Support technical proposals, demonstrations, customer engagements, and internal research and development efforts.
