Job summary

G2 Ops, Inc. is seeking a Cyber Software Capability Lead and Principal Software Engineer in Virginia Beach to guide architecture, design, and evolution of our software capabilities for the AEGIS portfolio.

The role blends hands-on development with strategic technical leadership to deliver advanced cyber analytics and digital engineering tools for DoD customers. You will lead architecture reviews, mentor engineers, and drive execution across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and cloud

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required or higher in computer science, software engineering, cybersecurity, or related field.
10+ years of software development experience, including leadership or architecture roles.
Experience building modern web-based software applications and distributed systems.
Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, cloud technologies, and secure development practices.
Experience integrating multiple data sources into scalable software solutions.
Excellent communication skills for leading discussions with engineers and customers.
DoD or Federal Government program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical architecture, design, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of software applications across the AEGIS portfolio.
Provide technical leadership across front-end, back-end, API, database, analytics, cloud integration, and plugin development.
Develop software capabilities supporting cyber analytics, vulnerability assessment, reachability analysis, and data visualization.
Design scalable, secure software architectures integrating engineering, cybersecurity, and operational data.
Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies including AI, analytics, cloud services, and modern frameworks.
Mentor engineers through architecture reviews, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems, cloud architects, and customers to define solutions and implementation strategies.
Support technical proposals, demonstrations, customer engagements, and R&D efforts.
