Summary

The Cyber Security & Control Systems (CSCS) Storage & Virtual (S&V) Program Engineer is an on-site role at Hanscom AFB, MA. The position supports the Server Consolidation Environment (SCE) and Air Force Provisional Enterprise Data Center (AFPEDC) programs. Responsibilities include testing, implementing, and maintaining solutions, ensuring system performance, and applying industry-standard practices. The role involves collaboration with various teams and acting as a liaison for AFLCMC/HNI.

The primary focus is supporting the AFPEDC system at the Hanscom Integration and Test Facility (ITF), which mirrors the production environment for development and verification tasks. The engineer will provide on-site and remote engineering and integration services, including system architecture, solution design, performance assessments, documentation, and data migration. Additional duties encompass site audits, technical account management, cybersecurity recommendations, and support for ATO within the RMF system.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

• Integrate new applications by coordinating design reviews, providing Material Lists, and managing integration activities.
• Document system as-built changes.
• Plan for system expansion or contraction.
• Support onboarding of new applications and migration of existing applications to new platforms.
• Design and support VMware, Cisco UCS, SAN, and Commvault architectures.
• Conduct IA assessments and remediation.
• Monitor system performance regularly.
• Resolve deployment issues in production.
• Review contractor submittals and evaluate architecture at various sites.
• Assist in developing and implementing architecture and design best practices.
• Create and test TCTOs for site changes.
• Travel within the U.S. approximately twice a year.
• Provide troubleshooting and system management support as needed.

Risk & Compliance Management

• Ensure adherence to DoD, Air Force, and industry security standards.
• Maintain operational readiness.
• Assist with risk assessments and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge

• Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Deep technical knowledge of network and system infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Experience managing vendors and technical staff.
• Familiarity with U.S. DoD & U.S. Air Force procedures and AFIN.

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree in a related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Enterprise storage, SAN, NAS, and migration experience.
• Support experience with DoD Information Network or AFIN.
• IA Technician (IAT) Level II Certification.
• Current SECRET security clearance or higher.
• At least two of the following:
• Experience with Dell/EMC SAN, VMware, Brocade, NetApp, Microsoft Server, CyberArk, Cisco UCS, Network+.
