Job Description
Job Summary:
You’ll be joining a team that manages and architects all infrastructure ecosystems company-wide.
We are seeking a self-starter with extensive IT experience to complement our team and bring new skillsets to our organization. We value the ideal team player.
We are looking for someone with expert knowledge across at least 3 of the following infrastructure technologies:
- Hyper Converged Infrastructure and Virtual Storage Attached Networking.
- Cloud platforms, including features and capabilities with providers such as Azure GCCH and commercial tenants.
- Enterprise Operating Systems and Databases (e.g., Windows Server).
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 platforms, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, EntraID.
- Network technologies (firewalls, switching, routing) and network architecture.
- Project management tools and techniques.
- Cyber Security mindset is a plus.
- Education to degree level or relevant professional experience.
- Strong infrastructure architecture skills across software, infrastructure, and networks.
- Ability to develop high-level architecture from requirements, refining as needed.
- Proven analysis skills for complex components, decision points, and design artifacts.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Experience with industry standard frameworks and standards.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Delivery focus with task prioritization in high-pressure environments.
- Some enterprise security experience (IDS/IPS, Encryption, PKI).
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Manage co-location data center utilizing IaaS and capital equipment ensuring minimal downtime.
- Design, deploy, and maintain Windows and Linux systems in ESXi and cloud environments.
- Advise on best practices for core services such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy.
- Manage Azure infrastructure components, including VMs, virtual networks, storage, Azure AD (Entra ID), and app registrations in GCCH and Commercial clouds.
- Knowledge of AWS resources like EC2, S3, RDS, IAM roles.
- Design and manage VMware and Windows hypervisor technologies for performance and scalability.
- Maintain enterprise backup and storage solutions, including Rubrik and PureStorage.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment with tools like Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Azure Automation.
- Enhance monitoring with SolarWinds, Nagios, and related tools.
- Implement performance tuning and create monitoring dashboards.
- Collaborate with teams to design scalable, secure, and available infrastructure solutions.
- Mentor team members through documentation and training.
- Develop backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience with Windows and Linux.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Azure services, including VMs, networking, storage.
- Expertise in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter.
- Scripting skills: PowerShell, Python, Bash.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with SolarWinds platform.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or higher.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
- Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills.
- Self-starter with understanding of the value of the role.
Travel/Physical Requirements:
- Some travel within the USA required.
