Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an IT Engineering Specialist to join our secure research team focused on cyber-physical systems. You will deploy hardware and software in secure environments, configure equipment for secure areas, and support staff with secure data transfers while aligning with enterprise security requirements.

Ideal candidates bring STEM training with DoD experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across Collins Aerospace and customer teams to advance

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or an advanced related degree.
• Experience meeting U.S. government security clearance requirements.
• Experience in a classified lab environment.
• U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility.
• Aerospace/defense context experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and strategic management of novel R&D projects in cyber‑physical security.
• Deploy new technologies in secure environments including hardware and software.
• Recommend new hardware for procurement and configure it for use in secure areas following secure specifications.
• Participate in planning and implementation of current secure areas.
• Support staff needs such as password resets and secure data transfers.
• Contribute to our engineering pipelines of software and hardware development.
• Cultivate partnerships with technology stakeholders across Collins business and customers to ensure collaboration and alignment.
